The Villa People

We're going to be featured in a magazine. It's called Spanish Homes and the edition we're in hits the streets on October 24th. So in our best hello style we commissioned Handy Andy our handyman cleaner to take our portrait for the magazine. And here it is..................

Now that I've got Adsense on this blog I suppose I better mention that my shirt was hot out of the wrapper from Boden. I should also mention that should I die tragically young I have made Jaki promise that she will audition for the X Factor.

ps. After watching this weekend's edition of 'thexfactor' I've had an even better idea. Should I ever tell her that I no longer love her and leave her to fend for herself, I have made her promise to audition for the programme just to show that she doesn't need me at all!!!

View from the Mirador

In Spanish, a Mirador is a viewing place. The verb mirar = to look at something. It's also the name of Ibiza's newest (for the moment) five star hotel.

Dutiful drones that we are, we gave up one of our holiday mornings to take some photos and have a gander at the place in order to prepare their website.

Apart from its abject luxury, one of the things that impressed me was the bar

which looks pretty damn fab!

Anyway, to see what the finished web page looks like (most words and photos by moi) click here Mirador

What do you think?

Life in Colour

Tired of living life in black and white I popped out on a couple of errands to Ibiza Town yesterday and combined it with a splatter photography session taking stock shots of places for my Ibiza Spotlight news items.

I thought this shot of some red hot chilli peppers in the old market place was quite nice..........

It quite cheered me up for the opticians where they'd managed to get the lenses in my two new pairs of specs mixed up and later Toyota where they'd forgotten that I'd paid in advance for some accessories I'd ordered. So it took 90 minutes to 'collect' two pairs of glasses and a dog-guard and boot protector. Good going in the normal scheme things in Ibiza

The Offroaders do Sa Talaia

There ain't no stoppin' us now! Nothing can stand in our way, vertiginous dirt tracks beware, we're out to getcha.
We've now covered 172 kms in our new car and finally got some designer dust on it today as we left the tarmac to scale the dizzy heights of Ibiza's highest mountain, Sa Talaia (478m)

King of the Wind, Lord of the World

Who put those trees in the way?

Marli checks out Ibiza's highest shed.

You can see our house from here. The View of the Villa

It's True!!!!!

Everything I've ever suspected about 4wd drivers is true. It's official, I got my certificate of road ownership in the mail this morning.

I must ask Jaki to check the other thing I've always suspected.

Conspicuous Acquisitions

Consumerism has run rampant over the last few days in our normally thrifty household. In an effort to keep everyone entertained while I drone on about what we've got I'm running a 'just for fun' competition along the lines of what's the odd man out?

So what's the odd man out between:-
1. This BLACK ipod and docking station

2. This BLACK RAV4

3. This CREAM kitten
4. These BLACK Camper shoes
5. This BLACK suede bag I bought Jaki for her birthday

While you're thinking it over I'll just mention that Jaki was 47 yesterday and she really laughed and laughed today when I said, 'You don't look a day over 47!'
Got it?? The answer was of course the little cream cat was the kitten in the woodpile.
